Karen Tazi

Karen Tazi (Farrelly) was born and bred in Dublin. She studied at U.C.D. and trained to be a primary teacher at St. Patrick’s College of Education. Having taught in primary schools in Dublin, Karen moved to Paris to take up a position in Marymount, the renowned international school, where she still teaches today. She is married and lives in Paris with her husband and daughter.

Karen loves working and living in the multi-cultural environment that is Paris, but equally enjoys spending most of her free time with family in Ireland. Her passions are reading and painting. She has previously written and illustrated three books which have been published by An Gúm: Ar Thóir na Cailíse, Cogarnach ar an bhFeirm and Bliain sa Fhrainc. Having begun to learn Mandarin Chinese a couple of years ago, this interest dovetails marvellously with her most recently written and illustrated work Na Clocha Síneacha, published by MÓINÍN in late 2009. Na Clocha Síneacha was shortlisted for the ‘2010 Book of the Year for Younger Readers/Réics Carló Award’.
